In combination with a trackball, I’ve reduced wrist strain considerably with this and Dwellclick. If you notice wrist pains, don’t make yourself worry anymore and just get this already.
This app is extremely polished and configurable. It works very well and gives you lots of options for how to work. The only problem (for me, but maybe not for you) is that it doesn't seem to solve any problem that I have. If you don't have the finger strength to click your mouse button, then I'm not sure how you'll have the finger strength to use the keyboard. If everything you do on your computer requires the mouse, or if you control your computer with your voice, then this may be for you. It's extremely good at what it does, but if you have no problem clicking a button, then I'm not sure what the point is. Especially if you use a trackpad—the problem is already solved by Apple if you use a trackpad: just turn on tapping to click. But I'm giving it five stars since not solving MY problems doesn't mean it doesn't solve YOURS. If you need this sort of thing, I think you'll be very happy with it.
Having already had my right wrist "released" (carpal tunnel syndrome), I try to be careful about the stress and strain of repetitive motions. My situation is made worse by my inflammatory arthritis. DwellClick to the rescue! It hasn't taken me long to adjust to using it, and already, my right wrist and thumb thank you. However, I was a bit dismayed to see that MacWorld's 3.5-star review apparently prompted a $3.99 price increase in the app (c'mon -- increased volume is the way to go). Being on a fixed income, this is a big issue to me. This is an app that can really help physically challenged people, but at $16, its price is nasty. So, I've deducted one star for the stealth price increase. Kudos to the developer for letting us choose our own keys for turning app on and off and for bringing up the double-click/drag/control-click mini-menu. Those are the kinds of attention to detail that enable us to adapt this app to our own needs.
